OMEGA WORLD MISSIONS is an interdenominational faith missionary organization headquartered in Victorville, California with missionary outreaches in the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia and now into the Caribbean islands. Omega's goal is to strengthen and edify the local churches where they are established, and to plant churches in those areas where the Gospel has not yet been preached.

Omega was born of a vision the Lord dropped into the heart of Gene Adkins in 1980, and for four years functioned as a cooperating agency of the U.S. Center for World Mission in Pasadena, California. Since the move to Victorville, Omega continues to carry out the philosophy of the Center as an agency focusing on the least evangelized people groups of the world.

Omega seeks to to be a channel whereby the resources of personnel and funds from the Christian world may be focused upon the areas of greatest need. We believe that the church of North America has the greatest pool of financial resources, while the church in third world countries can provide the greatest pool of people-resources. By bringing the talents and gifts of the American churches together with the resources of developing nations, we may more effectively reach the still-unreached around us.

Since 1980, Omega has focused efforts on Southeast Asia, including the Philippines, Indonesia and Malaysia. We have helped our brothers and sisters in the Philippines to establish a registered non-profit organization, Omega Philippines Outreach, to establish churches where no church has existed before. To date, Omega Team members, and workers trained under the sponsorship of Omega, have established 10 truly indigenous churches, in addition to completing literacy projects, agricultural projects and other community development efforts.

Workers are currently involved in an outreach among mountain tribes that includes educational, medical and agricultural help. They are also active in student ministry on a state university campus.

These workers are supported by the generous offerings of American Christians as the leadership of Omega presents the needs to churches, missions conferences and individuals. If you would like to be a supporting partner with our brothers and sisters there, go to Partners in Mission.

Leadership Training seminars for national pastors and Christian workers are conducted in remote areas of Indonesia and Malaysia on a regular basis. This makes possible ongoing training of ministers who otherwise have no access to appropriate Bible teaching.

NOTE: As it works now, the Omega Letter is not coming up as an inline document to view via your browser, but will be downloaded to your computer. It can be viewed with Adobe Reader, which is free and can be downloaded HERE. I'm just learning to use the pdf files, both in web pages AND in printing documents to a postscript printer. You will find many of these PDF (Portable Document Format) files on the web and on many cd's.
