Doug and Charla Montague have been members of Omega since 1984. They have ministered in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, & Southern Thailand. Following a stint as a non-resident teaching missionary conducting leadership seminars in poutheast Asia as well as in the Caribbean, Doug and the family have relocated in Penang, Malaysia where he continues his teaching ministry.
Doug and Charla have four children; Stephen, Melody, Jennifer and Jeremy. The children have basically grown up on the mission field (Jeremy was born in Penang, Malaysia), and Melody, especially, has been actively involved in ministry.
Doug is a graduate of Texas Christian University, with an M.Div from Brite Divinity School and further studies at the School of World Missions, Fuller Theological Seminary. He was ordained to full-time ministry June 1, '80 by the Broadmoor Christian Church, Shreveport, Louisiana, and has previously served in the pastoral ministry.
In addition to his teaching ministry, Doug has assisted national churches in his fields of service in providing equipment, assisting in building projects, and many other ways.
Stateside, Doug and his family effectively minister in raising the awareness of the church to the many needs of missions activities. He is an effective communicator, and well received by pastors and people wherever he goes.
